He was reportedly shot on Monday night at Ekosodin community, a town mainly inhabited by students, The Nation reports.
James was a student of the department of Vocational and Technical Education.
According to an eyewitness account, James was going home after watching a football match at one of the viewing centres in the community when he was attacked by the assailants.
He said: “It might not be unconnected with cult activities on the campus. But he was aware of what happens at Ekosodin at nights. I just don’t know why he decided to risk his life like that.”
This is coming barely two weeks after one Gbenedio Heterogeneity, a 300-level student of the Department of Chemistry, was gruesomely murdered by unknown gunmen at the Ugbowo campus within the University.
